I found this cute Valentine’s Day DIY on Pinterest and I wanted to give it a try. This DIY worked great and it was super fast and easy. If you’re looking for a thoughtful, and personalized Valentine’s Day gift, definitely give this a try!
What You Need:
I found these cute little cardstock-type heart cards at Target that I thought would be perfect as the base for my scratch off Valentine’s Day card. I just wrote ‘Happy Valentine’s Day in the corner so I would still have room for my scratch off hearts. Then, I sectioned off an area where I wanted the scratch off hearts to be and I traced around them with these little foam hearts as a template.Next, just fill in each heart with white crayon. Use a lot. I actually forgot to use the crayon on the first card I tried, and the crayon is definitely needed if you want the paint to scratch off! Then, just write in whatever cute Valentine’s Day prizes you want for your scratch off ticket. I wrote things like “Starbucks Date”, “Kiss”, and “Candy”.
Create your Valentine’s Day scratch off pain by mixing 1 parts dish soap to two parts paint. So, I just used 1 tsp. dish soap and 2 tsp of the acrylic paint.I painted in the hearts with a cotton swab and left to dry. My paint color was kind of light and you could still see the words through, so I had to paint a second coat after.Overall, this project maybe took 20 minutes with the paint drying and everything. But it was super easy and I already had most of the items at home already. I think it turned out super cute!Left me know if you try this or any of my other DIY Valentine’s Day gifts!
