It’s been so mush fun making DIY LUSH Christmas products this year. I love all of this year’s Christmas stuff. This DIY So White bath bomb is super easy and it smells like a zesty hot apple cider; very similar to the LUSH one. Here’s my LUSH-Inspired So White bath bomb:
Ingredients
To make your own So White bath bomb, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- 1 C. Baking Soda
- 1/2 C. Citric Acid
- 1/2 C. Epsom Salt
- 1/2 C. Corn Starch
- 2 1/2 tbsp. Almond Oil
- 3/4 tbsp. Water
- 2 tsp. Essential Oils (Neroli Oil, Bergamot Oil, Apple fragrance oil)
- Mixing Bowls
- Bath Bomb Mold
- Food Coloring (green)
Combine the dry ingredients
Sift all of your dry ingredients into a large bowl and whisk together. In a separate bowl, combine all of the wet ingredients (except for the food coloring).
Combine all the wet ingredients
For the DIY So White bath bomb, I used a couple strong shakes of bergamot oil (my favorite), and neroli oil; and a couple drops of some apple fragrance oil to get a scent similar to the real So White bath bomb from LUSH.
Combine wet & dry ingredients
Once you’ve got your wet ingredients mixed and smelling how you like, combine the wet and dry ingredients together slowly. Slowly adding the wet ingredients to the dry will prevent your bath bomb from fizzing/reacting too soon. Little by little, add some wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and then quickly mix it in. Once you’ve got all the wet ingredients combined, your bath bomb mixture will be the consistency of damp sand.
Add coloring
Separate a small handful of the bath bomb mixture into a separate bowl so you can add the green food coloring. The majority of your mixture will remain white/without food coloring, so just set that bowl aside. I added green and teal food coloring together, but I wish I’d used a bright/lime green instead. Just add whatever green color you have to the small bowl to get the green leaf part for your So White bath bomb.
Create your bath bomb
The So White bath bomb is the easiest bath bomb to make because it’s mostly white and just has a small green leaf. With the LUSH-inspired So White bath bomb, I lightly packed white bath bomb mixture it into the bottom half of the bath bomb mold until it formed a little mound over the top of the mold.
Then, I just took a thumb print size of the green color and packed it along the side of the top half of the bath bomb mold and then added a more of the white color and gently packed it in until it was a little overflowed mound too. Then firmly press both halves of the bath bomb together to create your bath bomb.
Remove and let harden
Gently remove the bath bomb from the mold by giving the mold a slight tap. The bath bomb should come out smoothly. Then just set it aside on a paper towel or any clean surface to harden. I let my bath bomb harden for 2-3 days. With this recipe and the mold that I used, you can make 4-5 So White bath bombs.
This bath bomb smells like warm zesty apple cider and was super easy to make.
