BUYING THE TREADMILL

When I was looking to buy the best treadmill, I did a lot of research. There are a lot of different options out there and all at different price points. I’m just getting back into running, so I didn’t need anything over the top and fancy. The main things I was looking for in a treadmill were:

  • Sturdiness – I wanted a treadmill that was strong and sturdy. I didn’t want it to feel flimsy or shaky when/if I do run.
  • Wide Belt – I wanted to feel like I could run freely on the treadmill – not worrying about running on a very narrow belt.
  • Large Display – I wanted a treadmill that had a large display that tracks my progress. And also that had controls that made it easy to adjust speeds.

The ProForm Pro 2000 had everything I was looking for at a reasonable price and with good reviews, so I ordered it. A couple days later, the delivery company called to schedule delivery.

BUILDING THE TREADMILL

The ProForm Pro 2000 was delivered to my door about a week after I ordered it. The box it came it was huge and took up the entire entryway. Because it was so gigantic and extremely heavy, we opened the box and moved the unit piece by piece into the spare bedroom which is now the Fitness Room.

Moving the actual belt/base piece of the treadmill was very heavy on its own. It took two of us to move it to the Fitness Room and was a workout in itself.

Once everything was in the room, I built the treadmill by myself in about 2 hours. It was pretty easy and the instructions were self-explanatory. There are a lot of little screws that took forever to screw in — and they advise not using power tools to prevent stripping or over tightening.

You can build this treadmill on your own except for the part where you install the hydraulic storage bar underneath the base. You’ll need one person to hold the end of the base up while the other person installs the bar. Other than that little 10 minute part, I did everything on my own.

USING THE TREADMILL

I brought a treadmill mat to go underneath the treadmill and protect the flooring and I was really glad that it was such a perfect fit. I built the treadmill directly on the mat so I didn’t have to try to move it later. Once everything was ready, I plugged it in (don’t forget a surge protector) to test it out. I love the large display and the wide base. And the machine is super sturdy.

In the past few weeks, I’ve run/walked 33 miles and I love this treadmill. It’s so great to run with my new shoes and listen to my music. The treadmill can hook up to your phone with an aux cord and play music through the built-in speakers.

FAVORITE THINGS ABOUT HAVING A TREADMILL

Now that I have and love my ProForm Pro 2000, my favorite things about having a treadmill at home are:

  • I never have to think about the weather/how to dress
  • I don’t have to pay a gym membership
  • My treadmill is available whenever I want it
  • I have no excuses when it comes to working out and taking care of myself

One of my goals this year is to walk/run 1000 miles. Having my treadmill at home makes it easier for me to work towards my goal.
