Each spring Sephora holds a sale where VIB Rouge members get 15% off everything. There’s also usually an in-store event on the first day of the sale which I’ve really enjoyed in the past and look forward to each year. My favorite event was the Beauty Before Brunch event. This year, I’ve put together a small wish list to get ready for the event >>
SEPHORA SPRING SALE 2017 WISH LIST
Sephora’s Spring Sale event is April 18th – 24th so it’s time to get your shopping carts ready and stock up on your basics or those more expensive items! VIB Rouge, use code ROUGESPRING for your discount. (VIB 15% off April 19th – 24th) (Beauty Insider 10% off April 20th – 23rd).
If you’re going to the in-store event and want to see what it was like in previous years,
Here’s a look at everything I have in my Sephora cart this year:
tarte Clean Queen vegan deodorant
I’ve tried natural deodorants in the past and they never were able to keep me dry throughout the day. So, I’m curious to try this one from tarte because I love all of their makeup and I would love to switch to a vegan deodorant without chemicals or aluminum.
Josie Maran Argan Daily Moisturizer
I love this facial sunscreen so much. With SPF 47, your skin is protected from those UV rays and it’s hydrated with Josie’s argan oil. I wear this every day and the bottle is starting to get dangerously low. With 15% off, it’s a good time to stock up.
Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray
I already have a super big bottle of this, but I thought it would be nice to have the small bottle too for travel. I love this spray to set your makeup and bring a little moisture back to your face.
Marc Jacobs Instamarc Contour Powders
I love this little duo. I actually first got this at the Beauty Before Brunch event and I was so happy they had this one still in stock. The contour is not muddy or shimmery so it’s perfect for carving out those cheekbones. And the highlight is nice for setting under the eyes. The powders are super silky and I apply it with the Marc Jacobs Shape Contour brush. Definitely want to get this again.
NORDSTROM BEAUTY PURCHASE (PSA)
With all this Sephora stuff on my wish list, I wanted to share my recent Nordstrom purchase. During Sephora’s Spring Sale, I usually like to stock up on basics — mascara, makeup remover, brow pencils, etc. And I usually prefer Lancome products — Don’t ever buy Lancome from Sephora. Why? because you can literally get a better value at any other department store retailer.
For example, I love Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara (waterproof); it’s my favorite — when you buy it at Sephora, you get Beauty Insider points for every dollar that you can use to redeem for deluxe sample sized products or gift sets. What’s one of those gifts you can redeem for? — a deluxe size Lancome Bifacil eye makeup remover for 100 points. Or a Lancome hypnose mini mascara for 100 points. That’s nice and all, but when you buy Lancome at Macy’s or Nordstrom, they give you a free gift with purchase 90% of the time and guess what was in mine! — A travel size bifacil makeup remover, the mini mascara, a travel facial cleanser, a night cream or spf moisturizer, a primer, and a three-color eyeshadow palette! All in a super-cute, nice quality makeup bag!! For free with your purchase. It’s such a rip off for Sephora to charge you points to redeem for what you get for free at other retailers.
Basically, you just have to do your research for where to get the best deals. I stopped buying Lancome from Sephora and I love Nordstrom because they have free shipping too and I’m familiar with their brand/customer service. Recently I bought a few beauty items from Nordstrom and I wanted to share that in this post in case you’re looking at new beauty stuff for your wish list:
Beauty Blender makeup sponge
If you haven’t used the Beauty Blender, you should give it a try. It’s a makeup sponge, but it’s a really great makeup sponge. I use this when I apply liquid foundation and even translucent setting powder. Use it for everything. I just wet the sponge and ring it out and pat the makeup into my skin; it leaves a smooth finish and blends so well.
Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara (waterproof)
^ As I mentioned, this is my favorite mascara. I actually bought two of these because they were 15% off at the time and I got that gift with purchase that I told you about above.
I feel like this ^ is such a good value when it would have cost me at least 500 points at Sephora…which is basically $500 since 1 point for every $1 is the normal conversion. Nordstrom FTW.
Anastasia Brow Definer
I love the Brow Definer; it’s the easiest way to fill in your brows quickly and naturally. I like how there is a little spool at the end to blend everything together and it’s perfect for travel. I get the color Ebony, but they have a bunch of colors to choose from.
Sigma Best of Sigma Brush Set makeup Brushes
I had been looking for a nice brush set and was really hoping to buy those “Unicorn brushes” from tarte, but I didn’t like the new gold handles. The white handles they showed on their Snapchat were so pretty. Since the gold wasn’t as cute to me, I decided to go for practical and these sigma brushes were highly rated. So far, they are great. I love the eyeshadow brushes and I’m still loving the Tartelette In Bloom palette. I’ll be doing a full review on these brushes soon.
And that’s my Nordstrom purchase and my Sephora Sale Wish List. Are you excited for the Sephora sale? What’s on your wish list? Let me know on Insta or Twitter!
