8 Ways to be More Productive

I am always looking for tips on how to work more efficiently and be more productive. In order to get the most out of each day as possible, I complied a list of the top 8 ways to be more productive. Check it out here:

1 | MAKE A PLAN THE NIGHT BEFORE

An easy way to make sure your days are productive is to make your game plan the night before. Before you go to bed, write out two – three top priorities that you want to accomplish the next day. By having a plan from the night before, you won’t waste any valuable time the next day trying to figure out what you need to focus on. I like to plan out my day’s priorities in my planner to help me stay on track.

2 | WAKE UP EARLIER

When you set your alarm a little earlier, you give yourself more time to do what’s important to you. Getting a jump start to the day sets you in motion to be more productive throughout the day. Here are a few tips for how to be a morning person.

3 | DEVELOP A MORNING ROUTINE

Having a morning routine can help you prepare for your day and be more productive. When you wake up at the same time, and get in the habit of doing the same routine, you eliminate the extra effort it would take to make so many little decisions. Instead of wasting energy on asking “what should I eat for breakfast?” or “what should I wear today?”, a good morning routine can speed up your basic tasks and make more time for you to be productive.

4 | CLEAN UP A LITTLE EACH DAY

A clean environment can help you think clearly and stay productive longer. It’s much easier to get going on your work when you don’t have to stop to organize your space. If you don’t like cleaning, this tip is for you. A little tidying up each day for 15 minutes will prevent a huge mess from piling up. You’ll be more productive knowing where everything is and not working in a disorganized environment.



5 | TAKE BREAKS

Sometimes you just need to take a break and recharge so that you can come back to your task feeling refreshed. It’s ok to take breaks and take sometime for yourself.

6 | PUT YOUR PHONE ON AIRPLANE MODE

Your phone can be a huge distraction while you’re working with its different notifications popping up all the time. During your work time, switch on your Airplane Mode and eliminate any distractions. I like to put in my headphones in without any music to just block out any sound that may be distracting.

7 | DON’T TRY TO MULTI-TASK

Instead of trying to do many things at once, stop the multi-tasking and focus on completing one thing completely. It’s much more rewarding and you’ll feel more productive. When you can check items off of your list, you’ll be more motivated to keep working. So rather than having 5 or 10 projects that are in various stages of completeness, knock one thing out at a time and be more productive.



8 | SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE

It’s easier to be more productive without any unwanted distractions, clutter, or disorganization. Get rid of the things you don’t need and that don’t make you happy in order to live your best, most productive life.
