We went to Whole Foods today to pick up some groceries. In September we are choosing to eat all plant-based — Septegan (September + Vegan), but I wanted to get a head start and make sure we had some awesome vegan foods ready to go. I found some new recipes that I wanted to try out through Instagram, so I bought those ingredients and some regular everyday foods too. Here’s everything we bought:
I’m really excited to try out these new recipes, and I was happy to find everything I needed at Whole Foods. Here’s a closer look at everything we picked up:
The recipes I found looked delicious. The first one is I want to try is Oyster Mushroom Make Rolls from Annet Velsberg. I think this will be amazing because I love vegan sushi, but I’ve never made my own. I bought a little bamboo rolling mat and I am so ready to become a sushi chef.
It was a little difficult to find the black and white sesame seeds, but Whole Foods had a blend that included that and some additional seasoning that I thought would be good.
I look forward to making these sushi rolls!
The next recipe that I found that I thought would be good was BBQ Tempe Pizza with Cashew Cream Sauce from The Yummy Plant. This pizza looks so good in the pictures. She makes it with pineapple, but I’m not a huge fan so I’ll recreate it without. I haven’t tried tempeh before, but my sister has used it and I’m excited to try something new.
And I enjoy some chocolate chip cookies now and then, so I wanted to try out this Salted Rosemary Chocolate Chip Cookie Bar recipe from So Beautifully Real. These cookie bars look super moist and gooey which I love. You make these with a flax egg which I think I’ve heard of, but wasn’t sure what it really was. So I bought some ground flaxseed too.
If you know any fun vegan recipes, I’d love to try them out. Tag me on Insta or Twitter to let me know!
