I showed you what I was planning on getting during Sephora’s 20% off sale, but what did I actually get? Here’s my Sephora VIB Rouge Haul 2017:
Sephora’s 20% off sale for VIB Rouge was from 11/3 – 11/6, and it’s starting up again for Beauty Insiders, VIBs, and VIB Rouge from 11/10 – 11/15 (see online discount codes and my wishlist here). I usually like to shop online and since there wasn’t an in-store event for the sale, I planned to shop from home. But Sephora was offering a free tote bag for VIB Rouge who shopped in-store on that first Friday, and I figured that I could get color-matched for foundation and redeem my voucher for a free mascara, so I did go in on that Friday.
COLOR IQ
I asked to get color matched using the Color iQ device so I could pick out the right shade of foundation for me. It’s difficult to just pick a foundation from swatches and reviews online, and I don’t like having to go back to the store just to make a return. They took pictures of my face using the Color iQ, and I was 4Y06…..again. I’ve been color matched before and I was 4Y06 then, but I thought I would be different now; it’s been years. Anyway, after they color match you, you can look up all the foundations that will work for you. The Hourglass Illusion Hyaluronic Skin Tint from my wishlist wasn’t on the 4Y06 list, but the Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation Mattifying Oil Free foundation is. I asked for samples of both foundations, but I decided not to purchase the foundation during the sale.
SEPHORA VIB ROUGE HAUL
My Sephora haul is from shopping in-store and online. I bought basically everything on my wish list except for the foundation. Once I make a decision about which foundation I want, I’ll wait to buy it in December when Sephora usually gives out those $25 off $50 gift cards. Each foundation is $56, and using the gift card would actually be a better deal than the 20% sale.
In addition to everything I bought, I also redeemed my voucher for a “free” mascara that I bought in my Sephora Birthday Haul. I ended up choosing the Benefit They’re Real mascara which I’ve used before and really liked.
I also bought a gift card so that I could get the cute little card pouch since I love little pouches to just throw in my backpack. Then I just used the gift card toward the online purchase I made. The free tote they gave out to VIB Rouge on that first Friday is pretty cute. It’s a regular cloth tote with the classic black and white Sephora stripes, and a little gift wrap bow printed on the front. I like to use those totes to get mail or quickly carry things if I have to run an errand.
I am excited to use all of my new items and, of course, review them! I am most excited about the Sunday Riley Good Genes, so I’ll let you know how it goes. I did buy one more item today — the Josie Maran Argan Moisturizer. I use it everyday, but I’m getting kind of low so it doesn’t hurt to have another one on hand!
