It’s officially summer here! With the warmer weather, I’m more conscious of drinking water and I’ve recently discovered insulated water bottles. I am so excited to share them with you!
H2GO Force – 17 oz
My husband got this water bottle at a conference and I claimed it for my own. This bottle is double wall 18/8 stainless steel with a copper vacuum layer in between to keep your liquids at the desired temperature. I love having my water at hand all day long and I was excited to see what this insulated bottle was all about.
I was so shocked when my water literally tasted like it was fresh from the refrigerator hours after I had filled it. This is truly a gamer-changer for me. I love my bkr water bottles and water tastes better from glass, but they don’t keep my water cold like this insulated bottle does.
My h2go bottle is branded by google since that’s where my husband got it from, and it seems like they are mostly sold wholesale to different companies to be branded that way. The bottle looks a lot like the S’well water bottles which are insulated as well. I really like the lid on this bottle because it feels sturdy and secure, and I feel like the seal is tight.
Because this bottle is only 17 oz, it’s easy to carry and is not too heavy to hold. The mouth of the bottle is a good size to drink from. I can fit ice cubes in pretty easily. I really like this water bottle, but I wish it was a little bigger since I like to drink a lot of water throughout the day.
Corkcicle Canteen – 25oz
I bought the 25oz Corkcicle Canteen in the Unicorn Magic color which is white with a little shimmer. I was excited to get this water bottle because it is triple insulated to keep my water cool throughout the entire day and I liked the 25 oz size. When I received my Corkcicle Canteen I examined my bottle and was a little disappointed because the shimmer in the Unicorn Magic color is very understated (I can’t really see it at all — even in the sun), and also disappointed because there were some nicks/scratches in the paint.
I also noticed that the lid appears to be a darker grey color which does not match with the bottle. I would rather the lid be plain stainless steel/silver than this dark off-white color, but it doesn’t affect me drinking water so it’s not a deal-breaker.
After cleaning, I tested out my bottle right away. My water was cold for the entire four hours that I had it and I really enjoyed having the larger-sized bottle. The mouth of the bottle is quite large for me which is something I’m not used to, so I had to be aware not to just dump the water all over my face. You could definitely put in regular-sized ice cubes without issue though which is great, especially since it’s summer and the temperature is heating up.
I did notice that the mouth of the Corkcicle Canteen is “sharp” — not like it could actually cut you, but the mouth feels thinner than my h2go force bottle’s mouth so it isn’t as comfortable to drink from — maybe it’s just how large it is compared to the h2go. I also noticed that the lid does not seem as substantial as the h2go force’s, and it seems like the lid does not sit flat/evenly in the bottle. I did carry my bottle in my backpack and had no issues with leaking, so it seems to be fine.
I like the design of the Corkcicle Canteen. It has two flat sides so your bottle won’t roll around when on its side, and it also has a rubber grip at the bottom so you can feel confident that it won’t know over if you bump your desk.
Overall, I am happy with my Corkcicle Canteen — I really like the 25 oz size and how it keeps my water cool. I wish the paint wasn’t chipped right out of the box, and that the lid color matched the bottle, but I enjoy the grip on the bottom and the flat edges that make it easy to maneuver.
I hope these mini reviews were helpful. I wish I had learned about insulated water bottles sooner — I feel like I missed out on having cold water with me wherever I went, but I’m excited to use these two bottles and maybe try out some other brands too.
