I recently discovered insulated water bottles and I’m not sure how I’ve managed to live this long without them. If you haven’t had an insulated water bottle, you definitely need to try one. Especially now that it’s summer, having ice cold water with me is so great. I bought a 25oz S’well bottle about a month ago and am ready to do a full review.
About the Bottle
When my S’well bottle arrived, it seemed really secure in its cardboard tube inside a S’well packing box inside a shipping box. But even with all that packaging, my 25oz bottle still arrived with scratches on it. The scratches were small and don’t affect me drinking the water, but I was a little disappointed.
I bought the 25 oz bottle in the color Angel Food. It’s a crisp white color with a white bottom and stainless steel lid. I like having a neutral bottle that I can take anywhere, but S’well has so many fun colors that I would definitely like to try in another size offering now that I know I like the product.
All S’well bottles are stainless steel, vacuum sealed bottles that claim to keep cold drinks cold for up to 24 hours , and keep hot drinks hot for up to 12 hours. I have only used the water bottle for cold water and it’s amazing! My water is seriously so cold all day long.
Questions
Do S’well bottles dent or scratch easily?
I haven’t seen any dents yet, but I have noticed more little scratches appearing near the base of the bottle. It’s kind of a bummer since I really like having that nice, crisp white color but it’s not awful.
Do S’well bottles sweat?
No. This water bottle I sent amazing at keeping my ice water super cold and, even on hot days, it doesn’t sweat at all. This is great because I don’t have to think about it leaving a puddle of water at my desk or having it be some slippery with water. There is no condensation at all.
How big is the 25 oz S’well bottle?
The 25oz bottle is ~12 inches tall. It fits easily in my regular sized Fjallraven Kanken backpack and it’s not cumbersome or heavy to hold. The shape of the bottle reminds me of a slim bowling pin, but it’s not very heavy and the mouth of the bottle is a nice size.
Do S’well bottles leak?
I haven’t experienced any leaking with my bottle. The lid feels really snug when inserting into the bottle and when you tighten it, it feels secure. I’ve had it upside down in my backpack and never had any issues.
How To Care For S’well
I’ve only had water in my S’well bottle so I haven’t had to really try to clean it out that well — just hot, soapy water. I do have a bottle brush which would be perfect to really clean it out especially if you had coffee or something besides water in there. You should not submerge your S’well bottle in water or put it in the dishwasher – it messes up the vacuum seal.
What I Like About the S’well Bottle
I really like the lid and size of the S’well bottle I got. The lid is nice and sturdy seeming and I don’t have to question if the bottle is really closed. The 25 oz size is good for me too – it’s enough to not have to keep refilling it frequently.
I love how my water stays cold all day. I’ll put ice in in the morning and the ice remains through multiple refills and into the next day! It’s so great having cold water with me wherever I go.
