It’s always really exciting when Erin Condren releases the new Life Planner for the next year. The new planners for the 2020 calendar year will be officially available on Wednesday, May 8th, but if you are one of the EC Insiders, you could order yours in advance (TODAY & 7th). Here’s my experience leading up to the launch, ordering my planner, and a look at everything I ordered:
This year, I received the sneak peek emails teasing the new products and theme (unlike last year). I was so excited to get a glimpse of the bright new kaleidoscope theme; it looked so colorful and happy.
I didn’t receive my actual Launch Day Early Access email until later, so I had to hunt on social media to find the link. I really wanted to make sure I got my order in early because you get some freebies on launch day while supplies last.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT ERIN CONDREN
This will be my 7th Erin Condren Life Planner! There are a lot of planners to choose from, but I keep going back to Erin Condren every year because I love the customization, the colors, the layout, and how easily it works with my planning style.
Having a paper planner may seem “outdated”, but I love it because it helps me to remember things, and stay on track with my goals. It’s so satisfying to check off each task from a list, or to visually see progress towards a goal. I know that I am more productive and focused by having a tangible plan to keep me motivated.
Your planner can’t help you if you don’t use it. Having a bright, and colorful planner makes me excited to pick it up and make my plans. I love designing my planner and seeing the different colors each month; I never get bored with it.

WHAT’S NEW THIS YEAR
KALEIDOSCOPE THEME
I love the colorful version of the kaleidoscope theme; it’s so vibrant. I usually get the signature theme every year, so I’m really happy with everything I’ve seen so far. This kaleidoscope theme actually looks like the facets of a diamond to me, or like a crystal. I love the geometric shapes and the rainbow colors.
PLANNER BUNDLE
I’ve never seen a bundle offered that included a planner, but there’s one this year for a good value. You get a kaleidoscope colorful, vertical planner, — but you can’t customize it — the 10 pack multi-colored dual-tip markers, monthly classic edition 5 sticker book, kaleidoscope snap-in sticky notes, and a colorful kaleidoscope planny pack. This is a really good option if you want those accessories, prefer the colorful/vertical option, and don’t care about customizing your planner. I thought about getting this because it includes some things I want, but I have to have a horizontal planner for my planning style and this just wouldn’t work for me.
WHAT I ORDERED
Last year, I had a $100 discount code because it was my 20th order so I ordered a lot of accessories. This year, I only ordered a few things in addition to the planner, but it still added up. If you are making your first purchase, sign up for an account through my link for $10 off.
2020 Life Planner – Kaleidoscope
I ordered the colorful, horizontal version of the Life Planner like I do every year since that option became available. I love the horizontal version because I feel like I have a lot of room to write things out and it makes more sense to me. I prefer the colorful version because it is so bright and each month is unique. I love having a bright and fun planner so I think this kaleidoscope, colorful version will be perfect.
I chose a gold coil this year which I thought would coordinate well with some of the other accessories I got. I’ve never upgraded my coil before, but I think I’ll like the gold. I also customized my cover to say MuffinChanel, and I chose the January – December 2020 option because I prefer to have one planner for each calendar year.
Kaleidoscope Planer Folio
I really love my current Planner Folio — it’s just a zip-around case for your planner. It has a few pockets inside where I keep some stickers for on-the-go. I really like it because I feel like my planner is safe and secure and I like how the zipper goes all the way around. I think I will use the planner folio as a storage for my current planner when the year is over. I’m excited to get a matching one for next year’s planner, and I customized it with a gold zipper pull and MuffinChanel.
Planny Pack Kaleidoscope Colorful
I love keeping my pens in a Planny Pack and then strapping it around my planner. The colorful version of the Kalediscope pattern only comes with a gold elastic and hardware, so that’s why I chose the gold coil on my planner. I usually keep a couple of my favorite sharpie pens and highlighters to go with me whenever I take my planner out. The Planny Pack is included in that planner bundle already if you were interested in that.
Kaleidoscope Snap-In Sticky Notes
I love the sticky notes for pre-planning blog content, or an event that I am not committed to. It’s just an easy way to see your plans without having to write directly on the paper. It gives me the flexibility to move things around rather than lining through something I wrote in my planner. I use these all the time and really enjoy having them match the new planner theme. You can also get these included with that planner bundle.
Kaleidoscope Snap-In Bookmark Trio
These are simple little bookmarks that you can pop in to your planner. I really like them for tracking each week’s place. I like that they come in threes because some of the tines can become weak when popping them in and out each week. Also, the website shows packaging that says they are metallic, but I don’t see any of the foiling on them in the picture.
Launch Day Freebies
If you are an EC Insider and order on May 6th or 7th, you also get two of the Kaleidoscope Sticky Notepads and a Planner Charm while supplies last. I thought this was nice. I probably won’t use the planner charm, but the notepads look nice.
Overall, I am super happy with how the launch went this year. I love the colorful kaleidoscope theme and I can’t wait to get my new items. If you are considering Erin Condren, I definitely recommend their planners; I’ve been choosing them for years and have been really happy with them. If you are a repeat EC customer, do you like this new theme? Let me know or link me to your blog posts!
