Tatcha Replenishing Ritual Gift Set + My Summer Skin Care Routine

Before we moved, I used up all of my skincare products and I didn’t want to buy more because it would have just been more to pack and deal with. My skin really started to suffer during that time so when we finally moved, I decided to treat my skin to the Replenishing Ritual gift set from Tatcha. Here’s a review of the gift set and how I incorporate it into my current skincare routine:

TATCHA – THE REPLENISHING RITUAL

I bought the Replenishing Ritual gift set from Tatcha.com with a $20 off coupon. Since the gift sets is already a good value (11%+ savings versus buying everything individually), I felt like I was getting a really good deal.

The Replenishing Ritual gift set is for sensitive/dry skin and comes with:

  • Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil – 150 ml | 5.1 oz
Purify skin with this lightweight, antioxidant-rich cleanser that melts away even waterproof makeup.
  • The Rice Polish: Gentle – 60 g | 2.1 oz
Polish skin to a jewel-like luster with this creamy, water-activated exfoliant of nourishing Rice Bran and soothing Licorice Root extract.
  • The Essence – 150 ml | 5.1 oz
Soften, plump and hydrate skin with this fluid of 98.7% pure anti-aging superfoods that makes all your skincare work better.
  • The Dewy Skin Cream – 55 ml | 1.86 oz
Moisturize with this rich cream that feeds skin with plumping hydration and antioxidant-packed Japanese purple rice for a dewy, healthy glow.

I had only used the Cameilla Oil Cleanser before, but was excited to try out everything else in the gift set. I had heard a lot of great things about the Dewy Skin Cream especially, but I have enjoyed almost all of the products I’ve tried from Tatcha, so I felt like this was the best set for me.

MY CURRENT SKINCARE ROUTINE

NIGHT

The Tatcha set is the focal point of my skincare routine. Each night, I start off by pre-cleansing with the Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil. I use maybe three pumps of the oil to cleanse my face and neck, gently massaging without any water. The oil removes makeup, sunscreen, and waterproof mascara. I rarely wear makeup anymore, but I really like gently pre-cleansing and how the oil breaks up dirt from the day. Then I add a little water and the oil turns into a milky cleanser that leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft.

Next, I use the Rice Polish (Gentle) Foaming Enzyme Powder to really cleanse my face and neck. With the water left on my face from washing off the oil cleanser, I massage in a little of the enzyme powder. The rice enzyme powder starts foaming up and feels like a nice creamy cleanser. Because of the pour-type jar, I find that it’s hard to measure out a consistent amount of product each time. There are gentle papaya enzymes which help to resurface your skin very gently. I really love the Rice Polish because it gives a super smooth and soft exfoliation, but my face is not tight or dry when I wash it off.

After I pat my face dry, I pour a little of the Essence Plumping Skin Softener into my hands and press it into my face. The Essence looks like water, but it’s really concentrated nutrients that help to hydrate your skin and make the other skincare products work better. I do like this product, but I can’t tell a distinct difference from it. It’s more about the experience and the intention that makes me enjoy using it.

Once the Essence has dried/absorbed, I use “Buffet” + Copper Peptides 1% from The Ordinary. I bought this with one of my $100 Rouge Rewards at Sephora and it’s a bright blue color. This peptide serum is supposed to help with visible signs of aging/fine lines and wrinkles. I like this serum and it absorbs quickly, but it’s slightly sticky.

I follow up with the Squalane + Photo-Retinol Serum from Biossance which is a retinol alternative serum that is supposed to even skin tone while diminishing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Because it’s not a real retinol, you can wear this during the day as well. I really like this serum and do feel like it’s improving the look of my skin. I target the serum in areas where I want to prevent wrinkles — around my eyes, my forehead, neck, and smile area.

After that’s absorbed, I use the Ageless Revitalizing Neck Cream, also from Tatcha, on my neck. I’ve seen mixed reviews on neck creams — either that they are totally worth it for the “special” skin on your neck, or that they are a complete waste of money and you can just use regular moisturizer. Low key, I am pretty sure that regular face moisturizer is just fine for your neck but I do really enjoy this neck cream. it’s super silky/smooth and almost whipped feeling. It’s light but also feels creamy. It’s supposed to have lots of nutrients to help firm the neck. I am not sure about those claims, but I do like the way it feels!

Next, I’ll use a small amount of the Luminous Dewy Night Concentrate from Tatcha. I only use a small amount of this concentrate (maybe two little spoon-scoops) on the areas of my face where I feel like I need extra hydration. I would say that my skin is “normal” but leans a little on the dry side. So, I’ll use the concentrate on my cheeks and on my nose. (Full review here).

And to finish up on my night routine, I’ll use the Dewy Skin Cream. I actually love this moisturizer so much. It’s creamy and silky and it really sinks into my skin. I use the little gold spoon to scoop out maybe four scoops for my entire face. The moisturize does give a little glow/shine, which I really love and my skin feels great. Then I use a little of the Bite Beauty Lip Mask on my lips.

MORNING

The next morning, I’ll just rinse my face with water and use the Genius Ultimate Anti-Aging Vitamin C+ serum from Algenist. I really like this serum, but the pump on mine is loose/broken (so annoying). I use maybe 3-4 pumps on my face, neck, and chest. It’s a thicker feeling texture, but it goes on smooth and absorbs quickly. I feel like my skin tone is brighter and more even from using it.

I’ll follow up with a few drops of the Squalane + Vitamin C Rose Oil from Biossance. I really like this oil; it smells nice and feels good. I got the pink bottle version which I think looks cute too. I’m not sure if this is making a difference in my skin, but I like the smell and the glow it gives.

And finally, I’ll use a sunscreen — usually Tatcha’s Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen, but I also really love Josie Maran’s Argan Daily Moisturizer. Lately, I’ve been preferring the Tatcha one because it gives a slight matte/powder feel which I really like. But I may start switching more to the Josie Maran one because it has a little bit higher SPF (47 vs. 35) for these long summer days.

OVERALL REVIEW

It’s been over two months using the Tatcha set and the other items I shared above, and I am so happy with my skin now. I really look forward to taking care of it each night; it almost is a ritual — I even set an alarm for it.

Overall, I love the Tatcha Replenishing Ritual set and I would definitely recommend it — there are also similar sets for different skin types (normal to dry, normal to oily, and sensitive). Use my link for $20 off your first purchase at Tatcha.com.
