It’s that time of year when it seems like there’s a ton of sales and non-stop talk about new things to buy. Personally, all of the hype can be annoying and overwhelming to me so I prefer to do my shopping online. If you’re buying gifts this year, but need a little bit of inspiration, here’s my Amazon Gift Guide 2019. I love Amazon because they have pretty much anything I would want, and their shipping is super fast and free (with Prime).
Instant Camera + Film
I love my instant camera so much for taking special pictures. Instant cameras are the best because you take the photo and it “prints” out immediately; there’s no editing, no multiple takes, no adjustments. It makes each photo one-of-a-kind. It takes a unique kind of film which is pretty expensive so I save these types of pictures for moments that are really special. This is a great gift for someone who likes “rare” photos, or likes to have a vintage vibe. Instant cameras are pretty trendy right now so you may have seen people who decorate a wall in their room with just these pictures. This would be the perfect gift for pretty much anyone.
DIY Supplies
I bought everything I needed to my my Pura Vida-Inspired Bracelets, my Friendship Bracelets, and my Seed Bead Bracelets right from Amazon. I think this would be a great gift because you could spend time with the recipient, making the items! It’s like a gift and a bonding experience in one, and you also have a new finished item/gift to remember the experience. If you and your gift recipient get really good at making everything, you may consider selling them to earn some extra cash!
Interchangeable Knitting Needles
I have been really enjoying knitting and completing new patterns. I recently made the Flax Pullover from Tin Can Knits for myself and my niece and they turned out so great. I had been buying random circular needles as needed for each pattern, but I feel like a set of interchangeable needles is a better investment. If you have someone who is getting into knitting, save them from “wasting” money on individual needles and get them a nice set. With interchangeable needles, you basically get every type of needle combination you could ever want. I plan on buying this set since I really love the Chiagoo needles I have and it’s a good value.
Dash Cam
Since we moved, traffic has been busier and sometimes hectic. It’s low key stressful and there’s a lot of red light runners. To help protect myself, I bought this dash cam. Having a dash cam is basically just insurance in case you need to defend yourself/prove who is at fault if anything ever happened. Of course, I don’t expect anything to happen, but I like being prepared. If you have a driver in your life who you think would benefit from extra insurance, this is a great gift. Personally, I’ve never had to review the footage for evidence or anything, but I have made a few driving time lapse videos for fun. The picture quality is alright especially for the low price, and you can definitely see some good detail.
Photo Printer
Most photos are digital these days, but sometimes it’s nice to print them out and have something tangible. A photo printer is cool because you can still edit and fix your photos before printing them out. I like this one because it’s super compact and prints on sticker paper. I usually stick them into my planner as a keepsake/scrapbook type of thing, but these would be perfect to stick to your locker or school books as decoration.
Go Pro
I like the Go Pro because you can film videos and take pictures under water. We took this to Hawaii and our recent trip to Palm Springs and it’s so cool to capture those under-water moments. Go Pro is really good for action-type videos too and has pretty nice stabilization. If you have someone who likes skateboarding/snowboarding or does underwater activities, this would be a cool gift.
Apple TV
I love Apple TV because it’s a great hub for all our media. We don’t have regular tv/cable, so the Apple TV does our Netflix, Amazon Video, and stores all our iTunes movies. It’s very easy to use and you can use your phone as an extra remote. This is definitely a family gift since everyone can use it, but it could also be an individual gift because Apple now has its own video game Arcade which looks really cool.
Amazon Prime
If you can’t think of what to get someone, an Amazon Prime subscription is a cool gift. With Prime, you get free fast shipping (usually 2-days or faster), Amazon Video (like Netflix), Prime Music (like Spotify), discounts at Whole Foods, and Prime Reading (like a digital library). It’s been really great for me, and I think it’s worth the price. You can get your own 30-day free trial when you use my link!
I hope you enjoyed these recommendations and get some great gifts for your friends, family, or yourself if you’re shopping! Remember, you don’t need to buy things just because there’s a sale (there will ALWAYS be another sale). You are in control of your wallet, so only buy what you intended to buy. 💖
