While I was knitting my Briochevron Blanket, I started looking for my next fun project. I am still newer to knitting, but I feel like I’ve knit a good variety of items that I am confident researching new techniques and executing a pattern. I wanted a challenging project and I found a really pretty cabled sweater, but I thought it would be too advanced for me.
At the beginning of the year, I shared my knitting project plans. I wanted to challenge myself with new techniques and practice my brioche. Now that we’re halfway through the year, I thought it’d be good to check in and share my progress and changes in my plan.
This year, I really wanted to challenge myself with my knitting and learn some new techniques. I planned for a few projects that looked challenging, but also really fun to knit and wear/use. I think the project that I was most excited about was this Marled Magic Sweater by Stephen West. This sweater was so much fun to make and I am so happy with how it turned out; here’s my knitting experience:
With so many fun knitting projects and so many beautiful yarns out there, it can be hard to decide what to cast on next. Now that I’m more comfortable with knitting, I’ve been looking for some more challenging patterns that will be fun to knit, and help me learn more techniques. If you’re looking for some knitting inspiration, here’s a look at the projects that I plan on knitting this year:
For a while now, I had been considering buying an interchangeable knitting needle set. I finally made the decision to purchase, and I am so happy I did. Here’s my review of the ChiaoGoo Interchangeable Needle Set:
I have been knitting a lot lately, and getting more comfortable understanding what the different stitches look like and how to fix mistakes. I am really confident making socks and I’ve been successful in the couple of blankets that I’ve made, but I wanted to try something a little more “difficult”. I found a free pattern from Tin Can Knits and bought everything I needed to make the Flax Light Pullover for my niece. That sweater was so much fun to make; it wasn’t perfect, but it got me excited to try another one for myself.
Ever since I made my hand-knit socks, I’ve been getting more and more excited about knitting. I’ve made some cute outfits for my dog and recently, I made this super cute baby blanket for my niece. Here’s a link to the pattern and my experience making the Meadowland Baby Afghan:
I recently discovered hand-knitted socks and thought that they would be so much fun to make. It’s actually pretty easy and I love creating something that I can wear. If you are familiar with knitting and want to give socks a try, I made instructions for using 9-inch circular needles based on Simply In Stitches‘ interpretation of The Unapologetic Knitter’s pattern.
It’s Favorites time!! This month went by pretty fast for me, but I still managed to have a bunch of favorites that I wanted to share with you.
